I then affixed 10 paper packets with precut foam numbers to mark the days of Ramadhaan. These packets were actually sent to me by my Amma. They are “ang pow” a.k.a money packets from Malaysia. Giving “Ang Pows” to unmarried people is a Chinese custom during the Chinese New Year celebrations. However, most Malaysians do give little gifts of cash to children during festive season. The packets I had had more of a floral motives. They were just the right size for treats as well. Any sort of paper envelopes will work as well.
After the first 10 days of Ramadhaan, I reused the packets for the next 10 days and so on.
